Crème de cassis

Crème de cassis is a black currant liqueur invented in 16th centure by monks in France as a cure for snakebites. Here are a few suggestions on cocktails you can mix with Crème de cassis:
  1. Kir Royale: 1 part Crème de cassis; 5 parts Champagne
  2. Kir: 6 oz dry white wine; 1 tbsp Crème de cassis; 2 - 3 ice cubes; 1 twist lemon peel
  3. Ballet Russe: 2 oz vodka; 1/2 oz creme Crème de cassis; 4 dashes lime juice
  4. Snake Bite Bites Back: 1/3 pint lager; 1/3 pint cider; 2 oz Pernod licorice liqueur; 1 oz Crème de cassis
